3 MORE BILLS REPRESENTED TO EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

The parliamentarians of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which signed the statement on Armenian genocide against Azeris, reached 40.


PACE started its summer session on June 25 in Strasbourg. To get information on the processes taken place in the session with participation of the Azerbaijani delegation we contacted MP Rafael Husseinov. The following is the text of interview.
Question: Rafael Muallim, what documents did the Azerbaijani delegation present at the current session of PACE?
Answer: First of all, I want to say that this is the second time when Azerbaijani delagation participates in the PACE session. Inspite of serious achievements reached in the spring session, I can state one more step forward was taken in this session.
This time we proceed the works in connection with written statement on Armenian genocide against Azeris, approved at the last session of PACE. You know, the document was signed on April 26 by 29 members of the PACE. Although this is the third day the summer session has began, we managed to reach the number of signatures to 40 and we hope that will grow.
Question: What countries did the countries, which signed the document, respresent?
Answer: Among them are Italy, Holland, Macedonia, Romania, Spain. I want to note, hoverwer, that it is not so easy to collect signatures, for that requires hours to carry out propaganda among them.
Question: What documents did the Armenian party present?
Answer: No document has been presented by them for the time being.
Question: Rafael muallim, as we know, over the past days Azerbaijani delegation has submitted 4 documents at the PACE session. What do other 3 documents concern?
Answer: We submitted 2 important documents on June 26. One of them is the statement on Destruction and Seizure of Cultural Heritage of Azerbaijan. That was signed by 18 MPs, representing the US, Macedonia, Slovene, Liechtentstein, Turkey and other coun

tries. Key essence of the document is to inform the world community of the Armenian aggression towards Azerbaijan's cultural heritage upon invasion of the 20% of Azerbaijan's territory. Over 500 architectural monuments, 100 archeological monuments, 22 museums, 4 picture galleries, 927 libraries containing millions of books, 5 musical schools, 4 state theatres, etc. were destroted in the territories under aggression. The document also indicated unique museums in Kelbecer, Lachin, Shusha museums of stone monuments in Zengilan, burial mound in Khojali, referred to Bronze Age, Azych cave which is considered the ancient human places were ruined. Then it is underlined that Armenian, present national music, literature, culture as though their own. In the conclusion, CE Ministerial Council is recommended to prevent the aggression against Azerbaijani culture.
Question: Is it PACE's official document?
Answer: Yes, that was spread as an official document. As of the procedure, CE Ministerial Council will appoint special reporter in this respect. The reporter will first get familiar with the situation in the CE Committee on Science and Education then take concrete steps depending on the results of discussions. The most interesting is that CE Committee on Sience and Education will meet this October in Armenia. Naturally, the document on Destrcution of Seisure cultural heritage of Azerbaijan will be a topic of discussion at that session.
Question: What about the next document, which Azerbaijan presented?

Answer: The second document concerns Ecological State in the Azerbaijan Republic. That directly indicates ecological state in the territories under aggression s very dangerous, the forests are destroyed, fauna of the area was hurt. We call the CE Ministerial Committee to liberate Azerbaijanian integral part of Europe, from aggression. A special reporter will be appointed in this connection and the statement will be discussed at the CE Ecology Committee. The document was signed by 16 parliamentarians representing 8 countries. Among them are Macedonia, Slovene, Lithium, UK, Romania, Ukraine.
