ARMENIAN GUILTY OF GENOCIDE IN SOUTHERN AZERBAIJAN (4)

Ahmed Kesrevi the well known historian in his famous book called " 18 years of Azerbaijan's history" ( chapter 5- Sections 15, 16 and 17) has revealed barbarity of Armenian and Assyrian attacks against unarmed defenseless Azeri civilians . We have decided to translate these chapters in order to provide our readers with facts about the genocide committed by Armenians against Southern Azerbaijanis between 1915-1918.

Assassination of Marshimon

They were head of a Kurdish Shakak tribe along the border with Ottoman Empire. At any period of our recent history whenever there was a weak government they have exploited the situation and  organised  an armed uprising. Basically they are famous for being disobedient. During the reign of King Mozafferiddin shah, his brother Jefer Aga fought  a brutal war against local  government.  Nezamolsaltane Governor General of Azerbaijan invited him to Tebriz for peace negotiation. After Jefer Aga it was Simitgu's turn to head the tribe and depending upon the situation  he was pro or against the governments. When Russian army invaded Azerbaijan they became one of their key allies and did some of their dirty works and during the  Ottomans solders presence they were in good friendly relation with them. They had a business like approach towards the others.

Thanks to the military, intelligence and financial assistance of foreign invaders Christians were now in full control of Urmu. Conspirators were arguing that the time was ripe for creation of  a Christian country in the region. As Armenian and Assyrian were formed only a tiny proportion of the population of the region, they decided to boost the number by allying themselves with another minority. Best man to forge an alliance with was no one but Simitgu head of Shakak Kurds.
